Mkhuseli Faku | Chairman

Mkhuseli Faku | AFS Chairman Mkhuseli Faku, Executive Chairman of Calulo Investments, has tremendous experience in the South African oil industry. He is a non-executive director of Total South Africa and Governor of the Board at the Rhodes University. His academic qualifications include a BA degree in Law from Rhodes University, Energy Law (Wits University) and MAP (Management Advanced Program) from Wits Business School, South Africa.

He started his career in the oil industry with Shell, as a Retail Territory Manager and proceeded to be the Managing Director of Afric Oil, South Africa’s first black oil company. Mkhuseli played an instrumental role in the authorship of the Liquid Fuels Charter, which was the guiding instrument of the Department of Minerals and Energy (DME’s) efforts in transforming the Liquid Fuels Industry.

Mkhuseli’s breakthrough in the entrepreneurial landscape was marked by the formation of Calulo Investments, a powerhouse investment outfit in the energy industry, with investments in oil, oil and gas services, property and resources. Mkhuseli is the founder and executive Chairman of Calulo Investments. Additionally, he seats on several boards, predominantly investee and subsidiary companies of Calulo Investments.


Dr. Nompumelelo P. Siswana

Dr. Nompumelelo P. Siswana

Dr. Siswana is currently the founder and managing director of Naba Consulting (pty) ltd, a 100% woman owned company that focuses primarily in energy related business. Her career has been mainly in the oil and gas business sector, in various areas from refinery economics, production planning, performance management, strategy and planning.

She has held various posts for BP, PetroSA, SFF, Sentech and the South African Motorsport Industry Association (SAMIA)

Dr. Siswana holds a Doctorate from the School of Chemical Engineering and Industrial Chemistry, University of New South Wales, Sydney and an MSc degree (chemistry) from the University of Wollongong, also in Australia. She has also attended the Executive program at Stanford University, California, USA.

 


Steve Moule | Director

Steve Moule

Steve Moule is a Chartered Accountant and currently acts as the President of North America and Africa for Gilbarco. He has been with the company in various positions for 8 years.

Originally from Australia, he also holds citizenship for the UK having lived there for 17 years. He currently resides in the USA and is focused on supporting the AFS team deliver real value to their customers around the world.





Peter Mudogwa | Non Executive Director

Peter Mudogwa Peter Mudogwa matriculated in 1990, where he then joined Control Instruments in 1991 and filled the role of a technician until 1997. Peter studied thereafter at RAU, whilst working and obtained a National Diploma in Transport Economics Management. He then started Fleet Data Technologies as a control instruments agent in 2000, after which he joined AFS as a subcontractor and remains with us today. Peter is a shareholder of AFS and is an integral part of the company’s service delivery.





Tony Warrener, Chief Executive Officer

Tony Warrener

Tony qualified as a chartered accountant in 1988. After completing his articles, he worked In London before returning to South Africa to take up the position as the Financial Manager of the Rent a Truck group of companies. In 1998, he became the Managing Director, a position held until 2001 when the group was sold. In 2002, Tony joined the AFS group and in June 2003 was appointed the Managing Director of AFS Forecourt Solutions; a company formed to market and distribute the Gilbarco Veeder Root range of products in Southern Africa.





Alma Moses, HR Director

Alma Moses

Alma Moses joined Gilbarco AFS from a Publishing Industry where she spent three years as General Manager Human Resources. She brought to the company 18 years of holistic HR experience acquired in diverse companies such as The Spar Distribution Centre, Kraft Foods, Pearson Education Publishers as well as in some public environments like The University of KwaZulu Natal and the IRBA.

In her capacity as HR Director, Alma has a responsibility to implement best practice HR and to develop strategies for acquiring, developing and maintaining the best talent for the business.

Kurt Peffer, Chief Information Officer

Tony Warrener

Kurt Peffer has been in the IT Industry for over 20 years, and has successfully managed teams and delivered projects across the IT industry. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Practice from UCT GSB and has been PMP (Project Management Professional) certified for the last 8 years. Kurt was appointed to the role as CIO of AFS in Oct 2011 and has been leading a highly motivated IT and BI team in the delivery of technology solutions for the group. Technology remains at the forefront of AFS solutions and customer service, with IT and BI providing the necessary expertise and skill to enable the delivery.





Clinton Beinart, Marketing Director

Clinton Beinart

Clinton Beinart has a Bachelor of Business Science LLB degree from the University of Cape Town. He completed his articles of clerkship with leading South African law firm Bowman Gilfillan and after spending two years travelling abroad decided to move into the commercial world and joined Gilbarco AFS in 2005. At Gilbarco AFS Clinton has performed various managerial and executive functions in the company including business development manager and fleet fueling business head managing the fleet business P&L. Since 1 April 2014 Clinton has assumed the role of marketing director of the company. Some of his current functions include the following across all of Gilbarco AFS business streams:

  • Managing the topline of the Company
  • Entering new markets
  • Sourcing new sales channels
  • Oversight of tender submissions
  • Strategic marketing and sales function



Beau Papenfus, Chief Operating Officer

Beau Papenfus

Beau Papenfus graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Cape Town in 1993 and went on to complete his MBA at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia in 2002.Beau has subsequently gained extensive operational and general management experience within the transport and logistics industries at Freightpak, a Division of Value Logistics Limited where he held the position of Branch Manager, as well as with Nominated Carriers, a Division of Rent A Truck (Pty) Ltd where he held the position of Regional Director.

Beau joined AFS in February 2007, where he continues to add significant value to the business.




Vicus Luyt, General Manager Fleet

Vicus Luyt

Vicus Luyt [B Com Acc, CTA, CASA] has 20 years’ experience in the fuel management, fleet cost management, transaction administration, project management, strategy management, risk management, corporate governance and business administration. After completing his articles, Vicus made a valuable contribution at the Viamax Group, Consilium Consulting, F&R Phakisa Operation, CATAI Transport Solutions, and held 13 directorships during this period.

He is currently the Chief Sales Officer of the AFS Group and is responsible for establishing the strategic growth path of the group products and services. Vicus has been part of AFS since 2010 and also manages some of the AFS Group international.





Eoin O’Neill, General Manager Global Mining

  • Engineering degree qualified with an MBA
  • Broad work experience from Engineering, Marketing, sales and General management
  • Have lived and worked for Blue-chip multi-nationals across the world in countries such as South Korea, China, Germany, UK and South Africa as well as working with organisations in North and South America, Eastern Europe and Middle EastWorked with GVR since 2006
  • Lead Veeder-Root business in Europe and China before moving to SA in 2014 to lead global mining business
  • Second time living in SA, previous time with Ford in Port Elizabeth
